Country Comes to Town in Portadown is the town's annual event, held each September.  It draws crowds from County Armagh and all over Northern Ireland.  Mervyn Carrick helped create the annual event in 2000, as he was sick of the troubles within Portadown and the bad press.

This annual event is great for families and kids of all ages as there are some animals and horses on display.  The annual festival in County Armagh and has been occurring every year, except during the pandemic.  The Portadown Times newspaper along with plenty pf people are up taking lots of photos.  Here are just some of my photos and videos.

Country Comes To Town 2025

In 2025  on the Saturday 20th September 2025.  I just brought my iPhone 14 Pro Max this year.  I noticed there was less people than usual this year.  We took a walk up one side of High Street looking at the stalls along the main road.  For lunch I bought a burger but we stopped off at the Church hall for a cup of coffee before proceeding down the other side of high street.

Country Comes To Town 2024 Video

In 2024 this year and I thought I would spend more time filming the festival.  The date was Saturday, 21st September 2024.  View my YouTube video below.

Country Comes To Town 2023

2023 is promising to be similar and hopefully better than previous years. This year, you'll hear plenty of country music as well as plenty of stalls along the High Street in the centre of town.  Great to see parents bring their families, kids and children to the town. Also, I’m sure there’ll be plenty of kids' activities too, with some farm animals.  Always makes for great family photos.

Pictures at Country Comes To Town 2022

Just finished on the 8th of October 2022, and here’s a selection of my photos from the day in a gallery. If you like anything, please don't forget to share the page.  As you can see from the pictures, there was a nice, clear blue sky on the day.  The usual steam engines and old vintage cars were on display in High Street.  Looking for a Photographer for your event in Portadown, contact Philip.
